CREW Detroit Impact Award Winner!
Detroit, MI – In a competitive field of highly qualified entries, the Pope Francis Center’s new Bridge Housing Campus project captured the 2024 CREW Detroit Impact Award for new construction. With an ambitious mission to end chronic homelessness in Detroit, the community impact of this project is immense: the hungry will be fed, the sick will get care, the addicted will be treated and the homeless will be housed.
Designed by architecture firm Fusco, Shaffer & Pappas, the features of PFC’s new Bridge Housing Campus include 40 studio apartments, a cafeteria, chapel, gymnasium, library, classrooms, health clinic & respite center and an outdoor sheltered courtyard with heated sidewalks and overhead radiant heaters. Years of thoughtful planning and conducting many site visits to homeless shelters across the country went into the beautiful and functional new campus.
We feel honored that Father Tim McCabe, CEO and President of the Pope Francis Center has entrusted the J.S. Vig team to build his vision, and thankful to CREW Detroit for highlighting this important project with an Impact Award!
